labor day

if it seems unfair that mothers get 2 holidays assigned to them, you don't understand what being a mother involves. today is the 2nd mother's day. . .and also a day to get caught up on all the labor that i've pushed aside to keep up with my schedule. finally mowed the lawn. funny thing about that is i was planning on doing it this evening and a boy stopped by the house asking if i wanted him to cut it. i guess that was a nice hint on his part.

now i'm trying to catch up on some web projects that have been sitting on the back burner for a few weeks. eventually i'll head to the office and get caught up on some projects there and prep for school tomorrow. i also need to fit some seminary reading in somewhere. . .and a little extra play time with the kids.

the warrior child and i played a little golf this morning. . .then he decided it would be more fun to beat the ground with our golf clubs (i wonder from where he picked this up? . . . certainly not from me, since i don't play real golf). right now he is acting out scenes from toy story 2. this afternoon he hopes to eat a real ice cream cone with real ice cream (since he has been pretending for weeks).

the new kid is 3 months old and already learning to scoot and spin. today she almost flipped herself over and started the process of crawling. she is able to tuck her legs under her, but hasn't figured out the hand movements necessary. . .which is ironic since she has recently been fascinated with the control she has over her hands. she is infatuated with her hands.

spent the weekend down in ohio. got to see the osu buckeyes defeat cinci. i can't say i was impressed with the osu defense. they've lost something from the past 2 years. cinci offense came out strong in the first quarter. . .kept osu guessing with several different formations (5 different formations in the first 6 plays). if they could've kept it up, they may have had a shot at the w. ran out of plays by the end of the first half. unfortunately, they didn't look as impressive as u of m in their game over miami of ohio. osu has a lot of work to do if they plan on beating michigan this year.

the chief's dodgers are in a 3 game losing skid. depodesta's trades may be his worst move. if so, he should be traded.

more later. . .

peace and java
