ice today

it means more than a day off school. . .it means more coffee drinking tonight. the chief has been giving me tips about grinding beans and which beans to get.

bible reading schedules have been added to the students section. . .or by clicking here. i will try to find the other schedules that i have used and post them as soon as i can.

i'm actually glad that the olympics are over. the wife didn't like the figure skating announcers and i didn't like watching reruns of numb3rs and criminal minds. csi reruns aren't too bad. . .since i haven't seen all of the older episodes. i finally saw the episode where nick gets trapped in the plexiglass coffin. missed the beginning, so i need someone to let me know how he got in there.

funny thing about the figure skating finals. i was at the library and heard a librarian talking to her mom about it and letting her know that sasha cohen had fallen twice but still got the silver. didn't even know who that was (i assumed she was russian) and really didn't care. later in the evening the wife was watching the tape-delayed performance. when they mentioned that she was injured and that she had a terrible warm-up, the wife predicted that she wouldn't do well. i told her that i would bet her anything that sasha would fall twice, but still get the silver. she stared at me like i was crazy, but was trying to figure out why i would make such a prediction. i kept trying to push it so that i could actually win something. . .but she wouldn't go for it. i eventually confessed that i had already heard the results and showed her on espn that it was already recorded.

i think the whole bode miller deal is too typical to call unique or a surprise. he wants to do things his way (however non-traditional that may be) and doesn't want anyone to tell him what to do. and then nike pays him a lot of money. . .so what is his motivation to change or try to win?

more later. . .

peace and java
