we all survived the first week of school. . .and i survived a week and a half of hebrew. hebrew is a sultan language. one of the great things about hebrew is that the letters aren't nearly as close to english as greek. so it is like a secret code. i'm sure more guys will understand the thrill of this than girls, but suffice it to say, it is a lot more fun to learn it as a code than as a subject in school.
so i give my students a day to ask me any question they want. 8th graders asked some great questions: from which one of noah's sons did moses descend, why do some translations say song of songs instead of song of solomon, etc. 7th graders asked some interesting questions as well: what is your favorite number, how much do you weigh, why do you hate cats, etc.
tomorrow is labor day (aka 2nd mothers day), then comes school camp, then i head back out to colorado to help with the opening services of the
high country baptist church.
