love the fall!

praise: i know i have said this before, but i am so thankful that my kids are seeming to be much healthier right now. we've had some colds-but not as many as jan-jun. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

prayer: my nephew's surgery is being moved up to tomorrow (wednesday) morning at 9:30am. it is supposed to be a 3 hour surgery. please pray for him and his recovery. also, michelle has a pretty nasty cold right now. it's miserable enough being 30 weeks pregnant, but throw a cold on top-not fun! my dad is teaching a block course at Northland Baptist Bible College this week. please pray that all goes well.

playfulness: dalton kicked down the side of his crib saturday morning-here's the proof!

dave took some cute pics of the boys while i was grocery shopping.

dave has a mouth guard for while he sleeps-here's auburn trying it out.

dalton rolled under his exersaucer yesterday-he looks like he was trying to fix something!

dalton and daddy had a little cuddle time last night-i guess this was dalton's "daddy date."

speaking of "daddy dates"-both older kids had theirs this past week, too. dave took auburn to a girls' basketball game, then to grants for ice cream. landon went with dave to the library then out for lunch. both kids loved spending the one-on-one time with their hero.

yesterday, the kids watched the beginning of lady and the tramp. landon decided today that his "pets" needed collars-just like lady received. the next few pics are of the construction and completion of the collars.

for those of you who have scrapped with me-notice my son's posture. he can't sit and work either!

seeing these pics reminds me-landon started telling a lady who was walking her dog yesterday all about his pet. "i have a dog, too. he's a toy, though..." on went the conversation. she just stared at him, with a semi-patient look. trying to get away-but not wanting to hurt his feelings. i give her credit for trying to seem interested, but he would have kept her standing infront of our house for an hour if she had let him.

here's a cute pic of dalton-you can see his teeth well.

during naptime yesterday, i raked leaves. since i didn't have enough bags-the kids had the privilege of jumping in the remaining piles-and they had a blast! i'll start off the next string of pictures with a boring one of my house-which i happen to finally be liking-then i'll move onto pics of the kids in the leaves/with pumpkins.

(i have no idea why auburn did the face she did. the mind of a two year old...)

auburn enjoyed burying landon.

auburn wanted to rake, while landon "fished" a little.

okay, here are some more of the little guy. he was intrigued by the new toys.

oops! a little tipsy.

tonight, we went over to grandmas house to cheer her up since papa is gone. we don't do halloween except for dressing up to go to grandmas. kids had a blast.

i found the costumes for auburn and dalton in a bag sale at a consignment shop two weeks ago. landon's we threw together from items we had at the house.

grandma even made a special YUMMY dessert!

here are all the grandkids-plus joshua wiggins.

have a great night!!!!

pumpkin patch 2006

praise: all three kids are healthy. we are all planning on being in church tomorrow.

prayer: my nephew has surgery on thursday.

playfulness: thursday was our 4th annual trip to the pumpkin patch with the moms' group. landon jumped out of the van and went running to the giant pumpkin jump. he climbed in, coat and shoes, before i even had dalton settled in the stroller. you know what he likes! he even remembered getting his picture taken by the big scarecrow. here are the pics from the day. landon's picture by the scarecrow will be posted at a later date. i need to fix somethings on it.

landon also filled this wagon with pumpkins while i was talking to one of the workers about pricing. this is after we were almost done and he picked out the pumpkin he wanted to take home.

the next few are of auburn and some girls from her sunday school class.

left to right: megan, marissa, evelyn, auburn

if you look real closely at the ear of corn-you can see a white spot. this is where auburn tried to eat it. yes, my kids definitely livened the pumpkin patch up a bit. if you've read some of the other mom's blogs about "mom's chasing their kids"-that would be me!

both kids loved the jump. thankfully we didn't have any temper tantrums getting out of it this year.

i'm so thankful that auburn is seemingly getting over her fear of people. she still has some issues to conquer-but i think we're seeing some progress. she had a "melt-down" tonight at my church class activity, but it wasn't a long drawn out problem. she even eventually went out of my sight to play upstairs with the rest of the kids! yeah. if you think of it-pray for her in this area. please pray for me to-that i would know best how to teach her to be friendly and cheerful-as this is not her nature.

have a good night and enjoy the extra hour!

kiddos

here are some silly pics of the kids.

this was right after i came home from the store with a new coat for auburn. she wanted to put it on-so landon wanted to put his on. goofy kids.

daddy wanted a ventriloquist dummy for his birthday/christmas. unfortunately-when it arrived at the house-he was home and i wasn't. no surprises for him-just not possible. speaking of surprises-i haven't blogged about our "not-so-surprise" trip to south bend. maybe tomorrow.

anyway... here's pics of the dummy.

the kids love it. dave named it rufus. sometimes rufus "reads" the kids their bedtime story. auburn likes to tickle him.

i'm not sure why auburn put her diaper on like this-but she spent several minutes getting just the way she wanted it.

here's a pic of auburn as the black panther.

auburn got a hold of our camera and took some fuzzy pictures. so i decided to let them take a picture with the camera (as an approved activity-not a sneaky one). here are their masterpieces.

landons:

this was supposed to be posted last night-but it obviously never happened.

dalton boy

the little man is just growing soooo fast. some of you may remember how i felt about being pregnant with #3. i wasn't too excited-but i am so thankful that God knows better than us. i can't imagine life without him. he is a real joy. this post will be all about him.

he is sitting up real well now. he sat up for about 5 minutes in a row last week. typically-when he wants a toy that is at an angle he falls in the process of retrieving it-hence the boppy.

he even decided to "fight" over a toy with his sister.

a few nights ago-he decided to help me with the laundry.

auburn decided to put a wash cloth on his head-not sure why.

i think he decided he had enough time in the exersaucer.

this past week, dalton has been getting over a nasty rash. here's the worst of it.

here is a good shot to show how big he's getting.

i know i've posted similar pictures, but i can't get over how quickly he wiggles out of the swing.

dalton has just recently been introduced to foods such as applesauce, squash, cheerios and animal crackers. so far-he is a fan of all foods tasted. are you surprised?!?

here's another great shot-he just looks to old/big here.

next few pics are funny-i think.

he looks like he's saying "touching what? i'm not touching anything."

"okay, you caught me."

"really, I can have it all?! YUM!"

these next few (several) are entitled-"the many faces of dalton".

the grimace...

tired...

shy...

laughing smile...

silly smile...

full smile...

upset...

intense...

after all of those shots-he wanted to stand a little.

the standing was followed by a little ring time.

"mommy, why are you doing this to me?"

"i'd rather play with it"

"okay, now i've got it how I like it."

"you've worn me out, time for a good thumb chew."

"or, maybe a finger chew..."

"or, maybe two!"

anyway, thanks for bearing with me on my multiple picture post. i just think he's so cute-i had to show him off!  =) until the next post...

woman's hammer and screwdriver set

i received a humorous email from my mother entitled "if women ruled the world." there were several funny pictures in it, but this was my favorite.

if you'd like to see the entire email, leave a comment or email me and i'll forward it to you!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!

praise: dalton is doing better. for those of you who don't know, he's on a steroid and albuterol for his breathing. he was pretty "gunky" at the doctors office the other day. he's also on amoxicillin for an ear infection.

prayer: couple prayer requests-please continue to pray for dalton's health.

my friend, Jen, had her ultrasound yesterday. she was notified last night that there seems to be an abnormality on the baby girl's brain. please pray for Jen and her family as she goes through more testing to determine more information.

playfulness: it snowed this morning!!! we didn't receive much, but here's a pic of all the kids looking at it.

my brother and soon to be sister-in-law gave dalton a soft teddy bear dressed up like a bunny when he was born. he has become very attached to "berny" (bear+bunny). he uses him like a pacifier when he goes to bed. as soon as he sees the little critter-he grabs it and stuffs it in his mouth.

anyway, here's a little illustration of what dalton is like on albuterol.

This is Dalton.

This is Dalton on Albuterol.

Any questions?

Seriously-this picture does not do the stuff justice. he slams himself back and forth in his exersaucer after he's had a treatment. frequently standing tall as in this pic and staring bright eyed at everything! if your holding him-his arms and legs just go, go, go. can't wait until his breathing is better and we can stop the treatments!

i opened up my tupperware drawer the other day, and found the remains of auburn's pop-tart. i'm not sure why she spit it out and then put the dirty plate back in the drawer-but, she is two.

landon did something the other day that made me think he looked like his cousin jordan for a moment-so we tried to see if he did look like her. you be the judge.

dalton managed to get his shirt half off the other day.

landon and auburn have been on a "bob-the-builder" kick recently. dalton wanted to get in on the action, too.

i hope you all have a marvy-dandy day today!

cutest kids!

praise: the two older kids are playing wonderful today!! their level of  kindness to each other often dictates how the rest of the day will go.

prayer: dalton has a little cold. dave will be staying home with him tonight-pray for both of them as i will be gone for about 2 hours. also, please be in prayer for landon's salvation. he has been asking for his "sins to be taken away" on several occasions-but we do not feel that he truly understands yet. we certainly do not want him to have a false assurance.

playfulness: we pulled out the fall clothing last week. auburn has some really cute wednesday evening dresses. (they don't seem quite right for sunday morning-but they will have to do since it's all she has right now). anyway... i put one on her last week:

then about 10 minutes before she was supposed to go to dinner with grandma and grandpa-she had a massive accident-totally soaked. so, this is what she ended up wearing. i was trying to wait until october-but i guess the 27th of sept was close enough.

here are our boys in their matching outfits (the only ones they have).

i don't remember if i've posted a picture of auburn playing with the snugli before-so if i have, i'm sorry.

dave's cpap machine (for his sleep apnea) came in last week. here are pics of the kids trying it out.

the air was on while auburn was trying it-she was catching her breath in this pic.

dalton loves to give kisses. he usually grabs my hair, or my ears, and pulls me to him. unfortunately-sometimes he gets into it a little too much and pulls my earrings out or bites my face in his excitement.

i found landon in this position yesterday-never have seen him sleep like this before.

between dalton's cold and the vigorous excercise of tummy time-dalton was out. (still holding onto his toy!)

have a great day!!!
