one more thing

playfulness: i forgot to mention, dalton has found his hands-at least enough to suck on his fist. very cute.

okay world, here's more

praise: kids are doing well, and i feel somewhat in control of things again!

prayer: we will be doing a lot of traveling this weekend. please pray for safety, and please pray that the kids will travel well. they usually do not.

playfulness: i have a lot of catching up to do. first i'll catch you up on the boys and then on my "very much two" daughter.

landon: here's a great picture of his smiley self. he has been quite the joy recently. it's nice to have my happy son back. he took a two year break (from 2nd birthday to his 4th birthday) from his cheerful beginning.

dalton is getting sooooooo big. he loves to hold his head up and be in a sitting position so he can look around. we put him in his exersaucer just to see what he would do. obviously, not much. in a few weeks....=)

tuesday night, my three boys coordinated for church. very handsome men i have, i might add. of course i had to take pics, and here are my favorites.

this pic was after church, right before bedtime.

now, on to the "curious" one. someone told me that i don't have "bad" kids, just curious. so here is my star.

here's auburn's poptart mess. she literally ripped the top off of three boxes.

her second mess was one i didn't take a picture of. she decided to change her own diaper. i had been in the living room, when i realized she was very quiet. as i headed down the hall to find her, i heard the diaper tape being pulled. lets just say, that as she was trying to wipe herself with a wipe, she left a "wonderful" brown mark on the carpet where she sat down. after all this, she was a little exhausted.

landon received a lot of playdoh for his birthday. here's a pic of playdoh time.

today, we went to the splash playground with some friends. the little blond sitting next to landon is the girl that landon wants to marry.

that's all for now folks!

definitely two!

praise: i finally scheduled landon's ENT appointment.

prayer: please pray that all doctor/dentist appointments go well next week. i think at least one of us is seeing someone three out of the 5 days next week.

playfulness: for those of you who think my daughter is a shy, sweet child, please pick a number and stand in line to take her home with you for a day. i would love the break, and you would be surprised at her real nature. (of course, she would make a liar out of me and be a perfect angel for you!)

yesterday, dave found her like this:

yes, she had sat in her baby crib and totally demolished it. we had figured that landon had been the one who took it apart before-but now we know the truth.

today, when i came in from doing yard work before dave went to work, this is what i found in our living room:

she had emptied almost the entire box of wipes-what a "wonderful" child. i called my mom shortly after to see if she wanted to have her granddaughter at work with her today!!! =)  auburn has also been getting up in the middle of the night just screaming!!! urgghhh! i know-this too shall pass.

dalton is still the best baby yet. for which i am thankful. it's nice to have one "calm" one. he can get pretty animated at times, but for the most part-even his cries are mild.

his favorite place in the whole world is the snugli. well, mommy and daddy's bed is his true favorite-but we're working on keeping him out of there. 2am feedings are definitely the hardest. here's some pics of him in the snugli. ususally shortly after he looks like this-he's in la-la land.

in this next picture-he has scooted himself 90 degrees-i always put him in this thing correctly and always find him like he is in this pic.

as you probably noticed in this pic-he does have a little umbelical hernia. his pediatrician said it's nothing to worry about-it will self-correct by one year.

have a great night-or day-depending on when you're reading this. =)

door 2

praise: we had a new storm door put on at the front entrance today. looks great!

prayer: believe it or not, dalton is getting teeth. pray that they won't cause him much pain.

playfulness: older 2 were playing trouble with their stuffed animals today. here's the pic.

auburn funny- we were eating lucky charms for breakfast. she asked for more "chucky arms."

gotta go, youngest is cranking up a storm.

new door

praise: have i mentioned that i love our new doors?!?

prayer: continue to pray for auburn.

playfulness: here's the promised pics. the first one is our old doors.

next is the doorway without any doors-notice that luke is using a tape measure.

here are the kids with their tape measures.

finally, the new doors.

date location?

praise: so many today!  isn't the Lord good! first of all, we were getting a new side door put in today. the guy who was doing the work called me from Lowe's this morning and said that there were two storm doors that had been special orders that someone returned that were on sale for $75 each. both doors were much better quality than the $100 plastic hinged doors that we were going to get because that was what we could afford. praise the Lord! second, i was late delivering my avon to my friend tonight. i was praying the whole way there that 1. we wouldn't miss her and 2. that we wouldn't run out of gas.  we pulled in just as she was pulling out-and she saw us, and two, the low fuel light came on right as we pulled in to the gas station that we were meeting at.  Praise the Lord again!

prayer: auburn was EXTREMELY cranky today. pray that whatever is bothering her, ends soon.

playfulness: last night, while i was getting ready to go out with dave for our anniversary, i told landon that daddy and i were going on a date. he very seriously looked at me and said "are you going to mcdonalds?" i laughed heartily. yes, i guess that would be a great date for 4yr. olds (if they were allowed to date).

today while napping, landon announced "i'm so hungry, i can't talk!" (he had been talking for at least 30 minutes).

auburn and landon watched with fascination as luke took out and put in our new side door. auburn kept saying "new door, new door, new door..." over and over and over again. later in the day, she would only say it whenever he used some sort of power tool. she and landon even serenaded him with the "bob the builder" song.

i have great pics of them holding their tape measures today. hopefully will be posting pics of the old door, new door, and kids tomorrow.

landon recently went with jenna to gymnastics (for bring a friend night.) he thoroughly enjoyed it, and came out asking "when can i go again, mom?" i took video-very cute.

gotta go, i'm pretty exhausted.

i finally learned!!!

praise: dave and i have been married for seven years!!!! happy anniversary to us!

i finally learned how to post pics to my blog. good stuff!!! now just the chore of getting caught up with the pics.

prayer: my friend ed had a bone marrow transplant last week. please pray for his body as it adjusts. www.edhorn.info

playfulness: i am just going to post some recent pictures, will catch up on the other ones some other time.

we buzzed landon's head saturday evening. here's the pic.

dalton is getting bigger all of the time. i hurried and put this new 0 to 3 month sleeper on him, since most of his 0 to 3 month are snug.

what is so exciting about ceilings?!?

here he is stretched out.

such a big boy!!!!

dalton decided that he needed to grab landon's nose. very cute!

that's all for now. come back later for more.

smiles

praise: dave made it to his grandmother's funeral and back safely.  we did pretty well at our last minute garage sale.

prayer: please pray that the kids stay healthy for the remainder of the summer. also, please pray for my memory!!! =) i still haven't made landon's ENT doctor's appointment and i really need to get him in. his rash ended up not being a reaction to the antibiotic, but just an irritation rash. thanks for praying!

playfulness: yesterday, dalton smiled at me after i did something funny to him. i would classify it as his first smile that was a reaction to something. he also found his voice for the first time yesterday. he made a little noise (other than the regular baby grunts and hummings) that i think shocked him a little. he kind of had the look on his face that said "did i do that?" he hasn't done it again since then, but it sure was cute! this week is the last week of our exilement from public places. i can't wait to show him off next week!!! although, he doesn't look much like a newbie. he's definitely rounding out. most of his 0to3 month clothes are getting a little snug. he will be going to church for the first time on father's day. landon is so excited about it. i guess he was telling everyone that cared to listen last week that his baby was going to come to church on father's day. the nursery director emailed me today and even mentioned it-she said it was very cute!

today at our garage sale, auburn became attached to the other lady we were doing it with. when i put her down for her nap, she started crying (which isn't unusual) but she wasn't saying her usual complaints. this time she was saying "heather hold me, heather hold me." she fell asleep in about 2 minutes after heather held her. she doesn't usually become attached to people very quickly, and she really doesn't usually allow other people to hold her. i think it helped that heather worked in her nursery once every month-so at least she was somewhat familiar.

this sunday is promotion sunday for the kids. landon is so excited about moving up to the fours! his buddy, andrew, has a late birthday-so his parents decided not to send him to kindergarten next year-which means he will now be in landon's class. that's one of the things that landon is so excited about. he also gets to go upstairs for sunday school. what a big boy!!!!  =) if you think about it, pray that auburn adjusts to the change well. the new faces might cause a crying fit, but i think she'll be okay when she sees all the baby doll toys in the new room. we'll see. miss kristen is great with the kids-so that will help, too.

well, everyone else is in bed-so i better head there, too.  good night!

landon

prayer: landon has developed a rash around his neck. he is temporarily off the antibiotic and the doctor wants to see him tomorrow.

a few more things

playfulness continued:  i was doing a little comparison amongst the kids measurements.

auburn and landon - landon was 38 inches at his 2 year check up, auburn was 37. soo...that puts her at 6ft. 2in. when full grown (theoretically).

dalton and landon - landon was 23 inches and 14lbs. 2oz. at his 2 mo checkup. dalton was 22 inches when measured a few days before one month. hmmm....i've said that i thought he was longer than landon was-looks like he might prove that true. some of his 0 to 3 month onesies/creepers are getting too short in the body already.

nic @ 13:35 | comments(6) | Permanent link

too funny

praise: kids seem to be almost completely better.

prayer: dalton still has a goopy eye, and landon is still on an antibiotic. auburn is getting her 2 year molars in and is miserable. she is a terrible teether, and always has been.

dave's grandmother passed away this weekend. he'll be driving to ohio tomorrow and then on to virginia with his mother and brother. i'm not sure when he'll be back.

playfulness: landon received a bug vacuum for his birthday this year. we also got him a bug box to put his bugs in. the box came with a pair of tweezers. while i was preparing to blog-landon yells out-"i need my vacuum!" then i heard him "i caught a bug!" i went down to see what thing he caught-expecting an ant since we're having ant problems. no, it wasn't an ant, it was a black and white spider. it had been crawling along his window when it met it's end from the tweezers.

auburn has been cracking me up lately with all her new phrases and "tendin" (pretending). Last night, Dave was tucking her in-for the 3rd time-when she told him she had "yuckies" - for the second time. when he checked her diaper and there was nothing there-she told him that she was "tendin". sounds more like a lie to me!

today, while eating her canned peaches, she told me she was "tendin cantaloupe!"

yesterday, she was helping me pick up her room and decided that her doll needed to help as well. so as she had the doll bend over and grab a bag she declared "dolly help, too!" very cute. she then put a penny in the dolls hand and held it there while saying "dolly! hold this! good job, dolly!" a few minutes after that she was disciplining dolly.

a landon funny from last week. while in the van, we were discussing star wars (again) and landon said "i don't like the bad guys, i like the good guys, the bad guys are kinky!" now, landon does not know any meaning for the word kinky-to him, it's just a word that he made up the instant that he spoke it. he makes up words all of the time when he's describing things. but it was very funny!

on a more serious note. we were eating breakfast when landon asked me why bad guys are bad. i told him that it was because they have sin in their hearts and they hadn't asked God to forgive them. he looks up and yells "God forgive me!" oh how i hope that someday he truly understands. i firmly believe that there is work being done in his heart, as i think his statement reveals.

congratulations to my brother! he and amanda got engaged on saturday. i believe the wedding is set for december 2007.
